8.5.1.4. Compressor cycle interval

After defining the size of the compressed air receiver it is necessary to determine the compressor running and idle times in order to check the motor cycle rate C.

The following formula is used to find the compressor idle time tI :

    VR = 3000 l
    p
    max = 10 barop
    p
    min = 8 barop
    L
    B = 2035 l/min

    tI = Idle time of compressor [min]
    V
    R = Volume of compressed air receiver [l]
    L
    B = Required FAD [l/min]
    p
    max = Cut-out pressure of compressor [barü]
    p
    min = Cut-in pressure of compressor [barü]
The following formula is used to determine the compressor running time tL :

VR = 3000 l
p
max = 10 barop
p
min = 8 barop
= 3650 l/min
L
B = 2035 l/min

    tR = Running time of compressor [min]
    V
    R = Volume of compressed air receiver [l]
    L
    B = Required FAD [l/min]
    = FAD of compressor [l/min]
    p
    max = Cut-out pressure of compressor [barü]
    p
    min = Cut-in pressure of compressor [barü]
