10.3.6.3. Required flow of cooling-air and cross-section of duct when using a cool-air duct

The figures for the required flow of cooling air d with ducts given in the following table are based on VDMA specification sheet 4363 „Ventilation of installation rooms for air-cooled compressors“. An increase in the temperature of the cooling-air of Dt = 20 K is assumed. The calculation used to determine the required free cross-section of the duct A d are based on a maximum dynamic pressure in the duct of 50 Pa (5 mmWH). This corresponds to approx. 5m of straight outlet duct, with no bends, tapering or objects inside, a flow speed of 4 – 6m/s. <BR><BR>
