In Idle mode (L1) the drive motor continues to run, but the compressor does not produce any compressed air. The electrical power demand falls to approx. 30% of the operating mode requirement.
Continuous operation of the drive minimises the number of motor cycles, which especially with large motors causes increased wear.
Idle operating mode is used in pneumatic systems with relatively small storage volumes, in order not to exceed the maximum switch cycles of the drive motor.
- The system pressure pN rises to cut-out pressure pmax .
The compressor switches to idle mode ( L1 ).
- The network pressure pN drops to cut-in pressure pmin .
The compressor switches to operating mode ( L2 ).
